We started this workshop after too many disappointing pairs of chopsticks bought online: unnamed wood, thin sprayed coatings, and no one able to say where the material actually came from. We wanted a pair that could answer basic questions about itself.
Since then, we have kept production small on purpose. We select each blank of hinoki, walnut or ebony ourselves, shape it by hand, and apply the lacquer in thin coats rather than one quick spray. Every pair is checked before it goes into its box.
We price plainly, with no retail markup hidden in the number, and we ship with a tracked courier so you know where your order is. If something is not right, you have 30 days from delivery to send an unused pair back in its original packaging.
I check the wood before it is cut and the pair again before it ships. If either step feels wrong, it does not go out.
How We Keep the Standard
We select the wood ourselves before it is cut, and we check the finished pair by hand before it leaves the workshop. Each order is wrapped the same way, whether it is one pair or a set for a restaurant.
Plain Materials
We name the wood on every pair we sell. If we cannot name it with confidence, we do not use it.
Small Batches
We keep production small so each pair gets a real look before it ships, not a rushed glance.
Direct Responsibility
If a pair arrives wrong, you reach the person who made it, not a call center reading from a script.
