The goods

The goods sold by JMA CONSULTANTS INC. consist of custom-made and personalized sushi chopsticks (o-hashi), matching chopstick rests and coordinated tableware accessories, crafted from wood, bamboo or lacquered materials and offered as food-contact tableware and gift items intended for personal or commemorative use. Each product page states what is included, the quantity, and the form. Photos are for reference; packaging may vary slightly.

Ordering and contract

An order is placed once checkout is complete. We confirm it by email; the contract forms when we dispatch the goods. We may decline an order if stock runs short or details cannot be checked, and we refund any payment already made.

Prices and payment

Prices appear in JPY and include VAT where it applies. Delivery cost shows at checkout, before payment. Accepted methods: Cash on delivery, Bank transfer. If a price is clearly wrong, we may correct it before dispatch and let you confirm or cancel.

Delivery options, timing, and cost are listed on the Delivery & Payment page. Risk passes to you once the goods are handed over.

Product images and colours

Product photos show the goods we actually ship. Colour on your screen depends on its calibration, the browser, and the light in the room; a slight shade difference is not a defect and is not grounds for a free return or compensation. Dimensions, materials, and contents appear on each product page.

Transfer of risk

The chopsticks remain our responsibility until the courier hands them to you or to the person you named, at the address given. From that point, the risk of loss or damage is yours. Note any visible transport damage with the courier and tell us within 48 hours.

Returns and warranty

You may return goods within 30 days of delivery, as set out on the Returns page. JMA CONSULTANTS INC. warrants that each custom chopstick set is free from material manufacturing defects such as splintering, lacquer separation or structural warping at the time of delivery. Any such defect identified within the 30-day return window will be remedied by repair, replacement or refund at the customer's election, in accordance with the quality obligations set out in Japan's Consumer Contract Act. This warranty does not cover wear from ordinary use, exposure to excessive heat, dishwasher damage or discoloration from prolonged food contact.

• Customized or personalized items, including chopsticks engraved with names, initials, dates or custom messages, once production has commenced.
• Items bundled with perishable food-contact finishing oils, lacquer-care kits or short shelf-life maintenance products that have been opened.
• Unsealed custom chopstick sets where the tamper-evident hygiene seal on the food-contact surface has been broken, for hygiene and food-contact safety reasons.
• Chopstick sets that have been paired, engraved, gift-wrapped with additional components or otherwise combined with other items after delivery, rendering them inseparably mixed.
• Digital gift certificates or e-vouchers once redeemed or the digital packaging has been unsealed.

Liability

To the maximum extent permitted under the laws of Japan, the total liability of JMA CONSULTANTS INC. arising from any order shall not exceed the total amount paid by the customer for that specific order. Nothing here limits liability that the law does not allow us to limit.

Age and use

You must be at least 18 to place an order. Use the products as described on the label; they do not replace medical advice.

Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Japan, without reference to conflict-of-law principles, and any dispute shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts of Japan. We try to settle disagreements by talking first. If that fails, the matter goes to the court of the seller's registered address, without affecting consumer rights you hold in your own country.
