From raw wood to engraved pair
Wood is cut
A single hinoki block is cut into a rough pair shape.
Shaping
Each stick is tapered and sanded by hand.
Engraving
Your name is cut into the wood along one side.
Sealing
A thin urushi coat is applied near the tip and left to cure.

Yes, you send us the exact text at checkout and we engrave it as written.
Does the engraving wear off with use? +
The name is cut into the wood, not printed, so daily washing does not remove it.
Can I wash these in a dishwasher? +
We recommend hand washing to keep the wood and the lacquer coat in good shape.
How long is the pair? +
